Την Παρασκευή στις 18 Απριλίου 1975, ο John Lennon κυκλοφόρησε το τραγούδι «Stand by me».
Είναι μια δημιουργία των Jerry Leiber, Mike Stoller και του Ben E. King, ο οποίος το τραγούδησε πρώτος. Αρχικά το τραγούδι ειχε γραφτεί για τους «The Drifters» αλλά δεν το ηχογράφησαν ποτέ. Ήταν το μουσικό θέμα της διαφήμισης των «Levi’s Jeans».
